The Southern California American Indian Resource Center (SCAIR) exists to empower Native American, Alaska Native, and Hawaiian Native families through education, employment, cultural connection, counseling and supportive services rooted in community.
For nearly three decades, we have walked alongside the families we serve — meeting people where they are, honoring the knowledge they bring, and building programs that respond to real needs across California.
What guides our work
- Self-determination. Every program we offer is designed to expand choice — in education, in career, in how a family writes its own story.
- Cultural grounding. Language, ceremony, and intergenerational knowledge are not add-ons to our services. They are the foundation.
- Whole-family care. We do not separate a child's education from their parent's employment, or either from the family's well-being. The work is connected, and so is our response.
- Community accountability. SCAIR was started by community, and we remain accountable to the community we serve.
