SCAIR is a Tribal TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) Training Site and provides Program Services to eligible Tribal TANF participants under contract with the Southern California Tribal Chairmen's Association (SCTCA). Cash aid, childcare assistance, case management, and other direct assistance are provided by the SCTCA Tribal TANF Program — not through SCAIR.
Referrals to SCAIR's Tribal TANF Training Services are made through your SCTCA Tribal TANF Case Worker.

Eligibility
The SCTCA Tribal TANF Program determines eligibility. To qualify, you must:
- Provide proof of membership in a federally recognized tribe for one member of the household, through enrollment or lineal descendency from the California Judgement Rolls (unenrolled applicants may provide verification of Native American lineage from their tribe)
- Have a needy, minor dependent in your home, be the guardian or caretaker of a needy Native American minor, or be in your third trimester of pregnancy
- Reside within the Tribal TANF service area — for SCAIR, San Diego County
- Have a household income equal to or less than 200% of the program income guidelines
